I am a sailor, and one of the questions that I get asked when out on the water is, “how does a sailboat sail into the wind?” It is a great question, and one of the marvels of sail design. Without going into too much detail, it can be boiled down to physics.
ABOB just finished our 7th men’s boot camp. The word for the weekend that emerged was clarity. What does it mean to have clarity? In the book “Waking the Dead” by John Eldredge, he starts the conversation with a description of a trip his family took...
On this last Wednesday night, my son and I watched the San Antonio Spurs run a basketball clinic at the expense of the Minnesota Timberwolves. To watch Manu Ginobili when his eye and his hand coordinate to create laser accurate passes is to watch a demonstration of the incredible power of the human mind and body. I turned 50 last month. It is supposed to be a big deal birthday with lots of reflection and pondering on life, both past and future. The world says that you’re an idiot if you don’t have your portfolio secured and a 2nd house by this time.
